Miswak is a traditional form of a toothbrush. Before toothbrushes could be bought in Central Europe, branches of various trees were used to care for the teeth. Oak and willow were among the common choices.

History of Miswak Usage

The “Toothbrush Tree” or Miswak grows in the deserts of Arabia, East Africa, and the Middle East and combines the properties of a toothbrush and toothpaste. It also contains substances that protect and clean the teeth. You don’t need water to clean your teeth with Miswak, so it’s also an excellent choice for traveling or trips.

Miswak has been used to clean teeth since ancient times. The use of fibrous chewing twigs was mentioned in the ancient Indian code of Manu (ca. 600 BC) and recommended in the famous ancient Indian compendium of medical knowledge Sushruta (ca. 400 BC).

Miswak plays an important role in the Arab and African worlds and is mainly grown in Pakistan.

Now you can gently caress your teeth with the natural brush and enjoy the pleasant feeling of cleaning. Even while watching your favorite series. When the cleaning result is no longer good enough, you simply cut off a few millimeters of the worn part, peel off the bark a little and repeat the process for use. After cleaning, allow the miswak to air out and dry. When you want to use the miswak again after it has dried, briefly wet the front part with water or saliva in your mouth.
